Channel Data Management specialist adds new platform to help vendors monitor partners’ sales data
Channel Data Management (CDM) company Zyme has launched a new cloud-based platform to help IT vendors improve transparency within their distribution channels.
According to independent research commissioned by the firm, only 25 percent of firms are confident in the accuracy of data received from channel partners, while 66 percent claim that their understanding of channel performance is held back by the accuracy of the data delivered by partners.
“Even in this era of data-driven decisions supported by ERP and CRM systems, companies leave a lot of money on the table by failing to leverage comprehensive and up-to-date channel data,” says Gerry Murray, research manager at IDC. “From channel marketing to incentive payments to inventory management, global enterprises have the opportunity to create enormous value by integrating decision-grade channel data into a wide range of business processes.”
Zyme says its cloud platform 3.0 offers channel visibility by automatically taking the partner’s raw sales data, identifying the most information and presenting it through analytics dashboards that are integrated into the vendor’s own business systems.
“The zyme cloud platform 3.0 makes our proprietary technologies and comprehensive content libraries, including more than 1.5m channel partners and the largest directory of products and retailers, available to customers through a modern, scalable, SaaS platform,” comments Zyme CEO, Chandran Sankaran. “Global enterprises have immediate access to complete, accurate and timely data from resellers and distributors to unlock the enormous value that had previously been trapped in the channel due to inefficient and outdated reporting systems and processes.”
The vendor says the new platform means vendors to have broader access to on-demand channel data, delivered through a scalable, multi-tenant cloud architecture.
It include e-commerce capabilities that give companies a picture of online shelf space to ensure they get the most out of their e-commerce investment. The solution tracks competitors’ product positioning, pricing and perception metrics across e-commerce channels to deliver actionable market intelligence and uncover the drivers of price erosion.
There is also channel partner incentive management to automatically calculate and validate rebates and credits earned by partners based on Zyme’s data. It can also processes incentive payments to partners, providing for quicker disbursement.
In a nod to the Internet of Things (IoT), meanwhile, the system is able to track connected devices down to individual serial numbers in real-time and maps out the complete route to customer for manufacturers.
With more than 70 percent of SDM market share, Zyme estimates it will process more than $175bn in channel revenues and more than 1bn transactions annually for the world’s largest companies by the end of this year.
